Naming rights and sponsorship, answered
The questions that come up in nearly every first conversation.
- What are naming rights?
- Naming rights are the contractual right for a company to put its name on a venue or an asset inside it — a complex, a field, an arena, a court — for an agreed term and fee. For the venue they fund construction or supplement operating revenue; for the company they buy sustained, uncluttered visibility with a local audience.
- What are pouring rights?
- Pouring rights are the exclusive right to make available, sell, dispense and serve beverages at a venue. A soft drink, beer or spirits partner pays for that exclusivity, usually against volume thresholds. It is often the fastest sponsorship revenue a facility with concessions can turn on, because the product is already being sold.
- What are jersey naming rights?
- Jersey naming rights place one sponsor on the uniform itself. Unlike signage, the asset travels: athletes wear the kit at school, at practice, at tournaments and around town, so the logo goes where the family goes. Great Plains Sponsorships structures these as one sponsor, zero clutter, 100% share of voice.
- How does Great Plains Sponsorships get paid?
- Great Plains Sponsorships works on a pay-for-performance model, which is why an initial conversation is risk-free. Compensation is tied to the partnerships actually secured rather than billed as a retainer against work that may not produce revenue.
- Does a project have to be large to be worth sponsoring?
- No. Great Plains Sponsorships works on projects from $55M sports complexes down to youth jersey deals, and does not steer away from small, tough or rural work. A 3,000-family youth organization can carry a single exclusive sponsor as cleanly as an arena carries a naming partner.
